I am a graduate student in the Curriculum and Instruction department working towards my masters degree in Instructional Technology.

I graduated from Iowa State University in the spring of 1981 with a bachelors degree in Child Development. For the past sixteen years I have worked as an early childhood program director and teacher for a small school district and have been involved in the Head Start Program. The past four years I served as the technology coordinator for Grand Community Schools in Boxholm, Iowa.

During my teaching years I was fortunate enough to be part of two interesting projects. One project dealt with the study and implementation of the Reggio Emilia approach into our early childhood learning environments. The past two years I was involved with the Iowa Early Childhood Papert Partnership working with early childhood professionals from central Iowa, Drake University and The Papert Institute studying the integration of technology into the early childhood environment. We worked primarily with the Microworlds program software and the LEGO programmable brick and motorized components, researching their implementation and needed project developments. The wider area of effective and appropriate use of technology in this environment was also researched and documented as the project continued.

I am currently working at a teaching assistant for CI 201, an introductory class helping to prepare future teachers for the integration of technology into their teaching practices.
