Teaching HTML and Swift at Roland-Story STEM Day

rouletteRoland-Story Middle School held its STEM Day on April 17, 2019. CTLT staff member Dennis Culver was invited to present to 5th-6th graders on how to get started with coding. Dennis taught the students the basics of HTML using Mozilla’s X-Ray Goggles tool. Students remixed webpages by viewing and editing the HTML code. Students were also introduced to Apple’s Swift programming language with the Swift Playgrounds iPad app. Using the app, students combined some simple math with coding to create circular patterns known as roulettes.
